QUALITY POLICY

We are committed to provide excellent quality education in Commerce, Management, Finance, Computer and Social Science faculties as per UGC, Goa University and Government of Goa norms to create multidisciplinary best citizens, and to satisfy the requirements of the students and parents through continuous improvements in quality of educational services.

The College IQAC was established on19th March, 2005.The Cell has been functioning actively of our Academic and Administrative activities. “Quality Policy” is the major objective of our IQAC through continuous monitoring and constant follow-up of undergoing activities.

As per the guidelines from NAAC:
“The prime task of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of institutions. For this, during the post-accreditation period, it will channelize all efforts and measures of the institution towards promoting its holistic academic excellence.”

IQAC of Damodar College has a defined Quality Objectives such as,

  1. To achieve academic and administrative excellence
  2. Creating a student-centric atmosphere for holistic learning
  3. To develop stronger Industry- Academia relation for benefit of staff and students
  4. To promote Interdisciplinary and collaborative research
  5. To enhance the quality of staff by promoting and encouraging overall faculty development

FUNCTIONS OF IQAC

  • To propose, promote, initiate and support quality measures in order to bring about improvement in the overall performance of the institution.
  • To prepare Annual Quality Assurance Report.
  • There are many initiatives taken by IQAC at various levels. The process of reaccreditation was a learning in itself which constantly brought forth several areas as priority for Quality Enhancement. Measures were adopted to address all areas where there is scope for improvement and innovation as well. The policy decisions were taken and the activities were planned to enhance a human resource, capacity building of individuals, Social Awareness, innovative, creative and entrepreneurial skills, personal and ethical values and use oftechnology for betterment of overall education at large and to rise towards achieving global standards.
  • During IQAC meetings several quality enhancement and quality assurance measures evolved through brain storming sessions to achieve desired outcomes. These new thoughts and ideas were implemented, reviewed and modified to get the best desired output.
  • The conduct of the Academic Audit, a quality enhancement initiative, is one such example where the entire framework for department evaluation evolved and has been institutionalized as an innovative best practice of the college.
