The College organised Vidyarambh – An Induction Programme for the newly admitted students of FYB.Com., FYBCA, FYBBA(FS), FYBVoc.(ST), and FYBBA on 19th June 2026 in Hall 1. The programme aimed to welcome the students and familiarise them with opportunities, facilities, and support systems available in the college campus.
The programme commenced with an Invocation Song presented by a group of students, followed by garlanding the portrait of Lord Shree Damodar and the lighting of the traditional lamp by the Principal, Vice Principals, senior faculty members, Programme Coordinators, Head Clerk, and a representative from the newly admitted students.
Vice Principal Dr. Shami Pai welcomed the students and highlighted the institution’s commitment to providing opportunities for the holistic development of every student. She encouraged the students to believe in themselves and make the most of the opportunities offered by the college. Thereafter, all teaching and non-teaching staff members introduced themselves to the students.
The college Librarian, Ms. Manasi Rege, informed the students about the resources and facilities available in the college library. She also explained the library and society timings and encouraged students to make effective use of the library services.
The Director of Physical Education and Sports Dr. Ajinkya Kudtarkar emphasised the importance of physical fitness and informed students about the various opportunities available for participation and excellence in sports at the State and National levels.
The Student Welfare Officer, Dr. Maithili Naik briefed the students on mentoring, scholarships, student council elections and the significance of active student participation and regular interaction with mentors.
Principal Prof. Sanjay P. Sawant Desai addressed the gathering and spoke about the rules and regulations to be followed on the college campus. He highlighted the importance of self-discipline, responsible citizenship, and staying updated with knowledge and current developments.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by the Programme Coordinators, Dr. Lina Sadekar and Ms. Sweta P. Shet Verenkar, for their respective sessions. The programme was compered by Ms. Samiksha Vengurlekar, Assistant Professor in English and Dr. Mamata Kane, Assistant Professor in Management, for the respective sessions.
Following each session, students assembled in their respective classrooms, where they were oriented about the course structure, credit system and academic requirements. They were also taken on a campus tour to familiarise them with the various facilities and departments of the college.
Expected Outcome of the Activity
The induction programme enabled all first-year students to gain a clear understanding of the opportunities, facilities, and support services available in the college and their respective departments. The programme is expected to help students adjust smoothly to the academic curriculum and college environment, thereby making them more proactive, informed, confident, and engaged in their educational journey.
