The Student Welfare Cell, in collaboration with the OBC, SC/ST & Minority Cell, organized an informative and impactful Scholarship Mela 4.0 awareness campaign for students on Friday, 18th July 2025. The session was conducted between 11:45 am and 12:45 pm in Hall No. 1, 5th Floor, Central Block, with the aim of creating awareness about various scholarship schemes available to students from different socio-economic backgrounds. 141 students participated for the same.
The session commenced with a warm welcome and introductory address by Dr. Maithili Naik, who emphasized the significance of financial assistance in ensuring equitable access to higher education. She encouraged students to make the most of the scholarships and welfare schemes made available by the government and private bodies.
Ms.Sushrusha Khandekar provided detailed insights into scholarship schemes offered by Vidya Vikas Mandal`s and Shree Damodar College of commerce & Economics. She highlighted on schemes such as Golden Jubilee Upliftment Scheme and Talent Scheme sponsored by Shree Damodar College, and Vidya Vikas Mandal’s Golden Jubilee Scheme for Meritorious Students. She discussed the eligibility criteria, necessary documentation, and the step-by-step application process. She also gave a live demonstration of the Chief Minister’s Scholarship Portal, elaborating on the scholarships offered by the State Government of Goa.
Ms. Kalpana Parab elaborated on the schemes such as Bursary Scheme, Aadhar Kaushal Scholarship Program (for youth with disabilities). She explained eligibility conditions and list of documents required, Quantum of financial assistance, application process and form formats under each scheme. Her session was especially beneficial for differently-abled students and economically weaker sections.
Mr. Sanjay Velip focused on the Post Matric Scholarship for SC/ST students. He covered a brief overview of the scheme, Eligibility criteria, Documentation for both fresh applicants and renewals, Application process,
Ms. Pretty Pereira discussed on the scholarship schemes such as Dayanand Bandodkar Scheme for Higher Education for Orphans (2025-26) and Reliance Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships. She clearly articulated the objectives of both schemes, eligibility requirements, and the support extended to students under these initiatives. Her session provided encouragement and hope to students who have lost their parents and those seeking corporate-backed scholarships.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Solonche Pereira a BBA student.
The Scholarship Mela 4.0 Awareness Campaign proved to be highly informative and student-centric, equipping attendees with practical knowledge and actionable steps to avail various financial aid schemes. The collaborative effort by the faculty members and organizing cells reflects the college’s continued commitment to student welfare and inclusive education.
