Students’ Council/Cultural Council and Sports Council held its Student Bodies Inaugural Function on December 16th, 2021 from 12:00 to 1:15 pm in the Library Reading Room. The Chief Guest for the function was CA Subramanya Bhat, Principal, Swami Vivekanand College, Borim. 120 students participated in the activity.
The function began with an invocation song by Anjali Kudachi followed by lighting of the lamp. Principal Dr. Prita D Mallya welcomed the Chief Guest and the Student Leaders. Convenors of the three student bodies introduced their respective nominated members. Dr. Lira Menezes Gama introduced the Students’ Council, Ms. Preksha Chopkedar, the Cultural Council and Mr. Ajinkya Kudtarkar, the Sports Council.
Ms. Lizette D’Costa, faculty member, Students’ Council introduced the Chief Guest. Dr. Bhat, in his address expressed the importance of all student bodies to a College. He stressed on how each Council, be it Students’, Cultural or Sports have to work hard and selflessly to bring laurels to the College. In his speech, he also brought out the impact of the pandemic on the working lifestyle and the swiftness and ease in which tasks can be completed. Lastly, he also emphasized the importance of being a leader and working as a team to achieve success.
The Chief Guest was presented with a token of appreciation for gracing the inaugural function. The Vote of Thanks for the function was proposed by Mr. Gourish Bhatikar, General Secretary, Students’ Council. The compere of the function was Ms. Petalia Coutnho, student of TY B.Com.
