The Nau Sainik Camp (NSC-I) – Inter Group Competition (IGC) was organised by 5 Kar Naval Unit from 20 May to 29 May 2026 at St. Xavier’s EM School, Udyavara, Udupi, Karnataka. A total of 109 cadets participated in the camp, including 6 cadets from SDDCE (3 SD and 3 SW) and 18 cadets from 1 Goa Naval Unit NCC (10 SD and 8 SW). The camp was conducted with the aim of enhancing naval skills, discipline, leadership qualities, and overall military proficiency among NCC Naval Wing cadets.
The camp curriculum included intensive training and practical assessments in Watermanship and Naval Skills such as Boat Pulling, Boat Rigging, and Seamanship Practical. Cadets were also evaluated in Military Proficiency subjects including Drill and Firing, as well as Communication and Theory subjects such as Semaphore, Service Subjects, and Health & Hygiene. These activities were designed to strengthen operational efficiency, teamwork, discipline, and technical competence.
The camp was attended by PO Cadet Ragav Shetkar, LC Diksha Chadda, Cadet Dipika Kashap, Cadet Divy Suthar, and Cadet Vishaka Singh. Throughout the camp, cadets actively participated in training sessions, competitions, and evaluations that tested their naval knowledge, practical skills, communication abilities, and leadership potential. The structured training schedule encouraged healthy competition and fostered a spirit of cooperation and camaraderie among participants from different NCC groups.
The Nau Sainik Camp (NSC-I) successfully achieved its objectives by enhancing the cadets’ technical knowledge, confidence, physical endurance, and leadership capabilities. The camp improved teamwork, decision-making skills, communication, and military bearing while promoting discipline, national integration, and a sense of responsibility. Overall, the camp contributed significantly to the personality development and preparedness of the cadets for future NCC activities and higher-level competitions.
