Pre NSC-III (NAU SAINIK CAMP)

The 6 Karnataka Naval Unit, Udupi, organised the Pre Nau Sainik Camp (Pre NSC) from 20 June to 29 June 2026 at MIT University, Udupi, Karnataka.

The primary objective of the camp was to assess the individual performance of cadets and select the most deserving candidates to represent the Karnataka & Goa Directorate at the prestigious All India Nau Sainik Camp (AINSC) 2026. The camp also aimed to provide intensive training to enhance cadets’ naval skills, physical fitness, leadership qualities, teamwork, and discipline.

During the ten-day camp, cadets underwent rigorous training and evaluation in various naval and leadership activities, including:

  • Seamanship and boat handling
  • Rigging and sailing
  • Drill and ceremonial parade
  • Swimming and watermanship
  • Obstacle course and physical fitness
  • Map reading and navigation
  • Leadership and personality development
  • Written and practical assessments
  • Team-building and competitive events

VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics was represented by the following NCC Naval Wing cadets:

  • LO Cadet Ragav Shetkar
  • LC Cadet Praveen Kumar

Both cadets actively participated in the camp and demonstrated commendable discipline, dedication, and teamwork throughout the selection process. Based on his outstanding performance in the various training activities and assessments, LC Cadet Praveen Kumar was selected to represent the Karnataka & Goa Directorate at the All India Nau Sainik Camp (AINSC) 2026, one of the most prestigious camps conducted under the National Cadet Corps.

His selection is a matter of great pride for the institution and reflects the consistent efforts of the NCC Naval Wing in nurturing disciplined, skilled, and capable cadets. The achievement also reinforces the college’s commitment to excellence in NCC training and leadership development.
