Deeksharambh: A Student Induction Programme

The Department of Management Studies BBA(FS) Programme organised extensive orientation sessions, collectively called Deeksharambh, over the course of a week from June 22 to June 27, 2026. The event was an extension of the student induction programme, ‘Vidhyarambh’, organised on June 19, 2026, where the first-year students were briefly introduced to the college faculty members and campus facilities.

The primary objective of these detailed sessions was to familiarise students with the comprehensive support systems and facilities provided by the college.

Session I: Deeksharambh officially started with a session on library services delivered by Ms. Ravila Talaulikar, Library Assistant, who informed students about the vast accessible print and digital library resources available in the college library.

Session II: This was followed by a session on sports activities led by Dr. Ajinkya Kudtarkar, Director of Sports. While enlightening students about the various activities organised by the college’s Sports Department, Dr Kudtarkar encouraged them to display their athletic skills through active participation.

Session III: The session on internships and placements was delivered by Dr Preksha Chopdekar, Assistant Professor in Commerce, and CTIP Convenor. Information regarding the college’s Career, Training, Internship and Placement Cell was shared by the lecturer, detailing the mandatory internship hours required for the degree.

Session IV: Sub Lt. Pretty Pereira, Assistant Professor in Economics and Lt. Sandesh Gaonkar, Assistant Professor in Commerce, jointly led a session on the National Cadet Corps (NCC), its benefits, and career advantages to students.

Session V: The final session on Student & Cultural Council and Clubs was delivered by Ms Samiksha Vengurlekar, Cultural Council, Convenor.

Deeksharambh concluded on June 27, 2026, with an Ice Breaker event organised for the first-year students. The objective of this event was to help the new students get acquainted with each other, build team spirit, and ease into the academic environment through engaging and fun-filled activities. The following activities were conducted as part of the event;

  1. Name the Five – Participants were required to name 5 correct answers related to business and finance within 15–20 seconds.
  2. Guess the Corporate Acronym – A three-round corporate quiz designed to test students’ business knowledge.
  3. Melody Mystery – Participants listened to the tune of a song and were asked to guess the correct song title
  4. Chinese Whisper – A classic communication game. A message was passed from one participant to another. The final message was compared with the original, creating fun moments while encouraging teamwork and communication.
  5. & Ms. Icebreaker – A three-round contest to identify the most confident, talented, and engaging participants.
