Orientation Programme on Project Paper & Internship for SYB.Com Students

The Project Cell and Internship Cell of VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics, Margao, jointly organized an Orientation Programme on Project Paper and Internship for SYB.Com students on 20th April 2026. The programme was conducted in Hall No. 2 from 11:20 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. A total of 175 SYB.Com students attended the session. The primary objective of the programme was to familiarize students with the academic requirements related to project work and internships as prescribed under Goa University, and to prepare them for their transition to TYB.Com.

The session commenced with Sub Lt. Pretty L. Pereira, Project Cell Coordinator, who addressed the students regarding the project component. She provided a comprehensive overview of the project guidelines and manual, explaining the process of selecting an appropriate topic, structuring the project report, and applying suitable research methodology. She emphasized the importance of maintaining originality in work and strictly adhering to the university norms and guidelines. She also highlighted how project work contributes to the development of analytical thinking, research skills, and overall academic growth.

Following this, Dr. Preksha Chopdekar, Nodal Officer for Internship, conducted the internship orientation session. She elaborated on the internship guidelines, including the types of organizations where students can undertake internships, the required duration, evaluation criteria, and submission requirements. She stressed the significance of maintaining professional behaviour, discipline, and commitment during the internship period. Additionally, she highlighted how internships provide practical exposure, bridge the gap between theory and practice, and enhance students’ employability skills.

The programme aimed to create awareness among students regarding the expectations, timelines, and responsibilities associated with both project work and internships. The session witnessed active participation, with students showing keen interest and engaging in interactions with the resource persons to clarify their doubts.

Overall, the orientation programme was informative and beneficial. It successfully equipped the students with a clear understanding of their upcoming academic responsibilities and encouraged them to approach their project work and internships with seriousness and dedication.
