The Career, Training, Internship, and Placement (CTIP) Cell of VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics successfully hosted the Placement Fair 2025 on 4th April 2025, with the aim of providing a valuable platform for final-year students to connect with leading recruiters and explore employment opportunities across diverse sectors.
The inaugural ceremony was held at 9:30 AM in the Smart Classroom. Asst. Prof. Ainsley Bernard, CTIP Cell Convenor, extended a warm welcome to the Principal, Vice Principals, corporate representatives, and students. The Officiating Principal, Prof. Sanjay P. Sawant Dessai, addressed the gathering and emphasized the significance of such initiatives in shaping students’ careers. The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Asst. Prof. Edrea Picardo.
The fair featured 22 recruiters offering job opportunities in finance, marketing, IT, and human resources. Participating organizations included: CommScope India Pvt. Ltd., Goan Institute International Consociation of Education, engageHR, Mangal Analytics and Research Consulting, Open Destinations, SHRIRAM FINANCE LIMITED,ALCON GROUP, Soul Travelling, Haztech, Nanu Resorts Pvt. Ltd., Mettalica, ASCEND Financial & InsurancenSolutions, Creative HR Solutions, Talak Constructions, MUTHOOT FINANCE LIMITED, 91HR, Kakode TradingnLLP, PERFORMANCE MATRIX, Adage Automation Pvt. Ltd., Umang Group, and Chowgule Industries Pvt. Ltd.
Student participation was enthusiastic, with 87 (32 males, 55 females) final-year students from M.Com, B.Com, BCA, B.Voc. (Software Technologies), BBA(Financial Services), and BBA programs actively engaging in interviews and discussions throughout the day, presenting their qualifications, interests, and training backgrounds. Recruiters commended the students for their professionalism, grooming, communication skills, and preparedness. Many companies expressed keen interest in shortlisted candidates, scheduling further rounds at their offices.
The event concluded at 3.30 PM and was expertly coordinated under the leadership of Asst. Prof. Ainsley Bernard, with the dedicated support of CTIP Cell members: Asst. Prof. Sheryl Sanches, Asst. Prof. Pooja Shanbhag, Asst. Prof. Kalpana Parab, Asst. Prof. Sameer Patil, Asst. Prof. Samira Vengurlekar, Asst. Prof. Sonya Angle, Asst. Prof. Edrea Picardo, and Asst. Prof. Sarth Shanbhag. The Placement Fair 2025 stands as a testament to the College’s unwavering commitment to enhancing student career prospects and strengthening industry-academia collaboration.
