The Department of Computer Science as part of its outreach program organized a 2 hour workshop on Power BI for the faculty of RMS Higher secondary on 10th February 2024. This workshop was organized to help the faculty familiarize themselves with a data analytic tool that could help them make their work more efficient. The Resource Person was Asst. Professor Ms. Rakshavi Dessai.
The workshop started with walk-through of basic fundamentals of business intelligence. The basic difference between excel and power BI, advantages and role of power BI was discussed. The focus was then shifted to the demonstration of Power BI, its commands, tools and practical approach. The faculties were given data sets where they would perform certain analytic functions to get the desired information. Multiple examples were taken to make the faculty familiar with using the interface and tools of Power BI.
The workshop concluded at 2:45pm. Ms. Ujwala More from RMS Higher Secondary proposed the Vote of Thanks and handed a memento to the Resource Person. All the faculty present appreciated the workshop as it has opened an avenue for them that is different from standard excel spread sheets.
Mr. Andre Pacheco and Ms.Rama Borkar were the faculty in charge of this program. 29 Teachers of RMS HSS attended the program.
