INTER- COLLEGIATE EVENT: INSIGNIA 8.0

Rosary College of Commerce and Arts successfully organized an inter-collegiate event: INSIGNIA 8.0, on 2nd March, 2024 specifically tailored for B. Com students. The primary objective of this event was to provide a platform for students to showcase their talents, skills, and knowledge in various commerce-related fields. The event commenced at 8:30 am and took place at the College campus in Navelim.

15 participants from our College actively participated in INSIGNIA 8.0. The team from Shree Damodar College, named “Apex,” comprised Safaa Sayad, Kewell Fernandes, Mehzad Shaikh, Brionna Noronha, Mark Laurence Soares, Kamal Ram, Chris Dias, Jegan Clyde Fernande, G Dinesh Kumar, Koel Jana, Fahadullah Javed, Lavanya Mapsekar, Natisha Borkar, Samiulla Shaikh, and Zakiya Shaikh. The team exhibited enthusiasm and thorough preparation to excel in the diverse challenges presented throughout the day.

INSIGNIA 8.0 featured a variety of on-stage competitions, including Harmonious Sounds, Feat on Beat, Design and Dresify, Beat on Heat, Cypher, Comic Star, and Battle of Bands. Off-stage competitions included Loco Logo, Sell Like Crazy, Cash from Trash, and Shutterbugs. The Damodar College team secured the 2nd Runners-up position, showcasing exceptional performance across various competitions.

Individual achievements were notable, with Brionna Noronha and Natisha Borkar winning 1st place in Logo Making, Kewell Fernandes securing 2nd place in Photography, G Dinesh Kumar and Kamal Ram earning 2nd place in Duet Singing, and Mark Laurence Soares, Jegan Clyde Fernandes, G Dinesh Kumar, Kamal Ram, and Chris Dias achieving 2nd place in Battle of Bands. Fahadullah Javed claimed 2nd place in Stand-Up, while Samiulla Shaikh and Jegan Clyde Fernandes secured 3rd place in Rap and Beatboxing. The dance team, comprising Koel Jana, Mehzad Shaikh, Fahadullah Javed, and Safaa Sayad, achieved 3rd place in the Dance competition.

As the 2nd Runner-up in INSIGNIA 8.0, Damodar College was awarded a trophy and a cash prize of ₹5000 for the team. This remarkable achievement reflects the dedication and hard work demonstrated by both students and faculty members.

The successful execution of INSIGNIA 8.0 by Rosary College of Commerce and Arts highlighted the College’s commitment to providing an excellent platform for B. Com students to showcase their talents and skills. Damodar College’s outstanding performance underscored the institution’s dedication to nurturing talent and promoting excellence among its students. The event was effectively coordinated by Dr. Shami Pai, B. Com Coordinator, with Mr. Sarth Shanbhag and Ms. Namrata Ugvekar, faculty members of Damodar College, serving as the teachers in charge of the event.
