Fun Week 2021- Cultural Council

The Cultural Council organised Fun Week from 21st to 23rd December 2021 from 10:00am to 12:00 pm in collaboration with the Students’ Council of the College. Over the period of three days various on stage and off stage competitions were organised for all the students, where in they participated and showcased their talents to outshine amongst the others.  Each day had a theme, and the students enthusiastically participated in the competition.

Following are the competitions organised for the event:

Nail Art Competition – Nailed It!

Nail Painting is a way to paint, decorate, enhance and embellish nails. It can brighten up one’s hands with paints and glitters.

Keeping up with this thought, the talent and creativity of the students was brought through this competition. The competition was held in one round. The students created colorful designs. The number of participants were 3.

The judge for the Nail Art Competition was Ms. Ankita Naik, Asst. Prof, Dept of Computer Science. The student in charge was Ms Lovely Ramchandani. Teacher in charge for the competition was Mrs. Rama Borkar. Asst. Prof. in CS

The result of the competition was as follows:

First place – Ms. Unnata Mandal

Second place- Ms.  Zia Fernandes

Third place- Ms. Dina Pacheco

Mobile Photography Competition- Candid It

The event was organised by General Secretary Cultural Council Mr. Jackson Rodrigues along with the student in charge Ms. Petalia Coutinho, DR. Teacher in charge for this event was Ms. Seema Dharani, Assistant Professor P.G Department

The event was organized with an objective to capture the candid memories of the fun week and its events. Student participants had to submit unedited photographs clicked by them along with a brief description and a unique title.

The event was judged based on the following criteria:

  • Clarity
  • Originality
  • Creativity
  • Unique title and

The result of the competition was declared on 26th December. There were 05 entries for the competition. Judges for the competition were Ms. Marjina ShaikhAsst. Prof. in Commerce and Ms. Rajlaxmi Nair Asst. Prof. in CS

Winners of the competition are as follows:-

1st place : Mr .Sachin Chaudhary (TY BCom.D)

2nd place: Mr. Prithvi Shirodkar (SY BCA.B)

Mehendi Competition

Mehendi competition was held on 23rd December, in the multipurpose hall from 10:30am to 12:00pm. 12 students participated, out of which 3 students won the competition. The criteria were cleanliness and creativity.

The student in charge for the event were Simran Andra (SYB.Com A) and Roshni khatun (TYB.Com) and the teacher in charge was Ms. Samiksha Vengurlekar Asst. Prof. in English

Judges for the event were Mrs. Rama Borkar Asst. Prof. in CS

The students showcased their creativity with a display of beautiful mehendi designs.

The winners for this competition were:

1st place -Prachi Paradkar

2nd place – Hafsa Abida

3rd place – Vaishnavi Marajkar

Treasure Hunt – Infinity Hunt

The treasure hunt event was based on the theme of Marvel Series – Avengers, this theme being in the trend, created a great hype and gained a huge response from the student.  The student in charge for this event was Jackson Rodrigues.

The event was all set from preliminary round till the final hunt. The clues were set by Ms. Samiksha Vengurlekar, the teacher in charge of the activity. Placing of the clues was handled by few of the Council members appointed for the event and student volunteers.

The event comprised of 2 stages, round 1- preliminary round – that was a marvel based emoji hunt and crossword through which top 7 teams were selected for the final hunt. In the final round teams had to crack down the clue provide to them and there after perform a task  to gain an infinity stone, team to get all the top 5 stones 1st had an opportunity to crack the final and most important – the 6th clue – and any team finding it first was declared as the winner.

Winners of the event are as follows:

1st place bagged by Mr. Sachin Chaudhary and Mr. Soheal Angadi

2nd place secured by  Mr. Darren Dias and Mr. Atharv Naik

3rd place bagged by Mr. Rahil Shaikh and Mr. Shruti Kudchadkar

Rangoli Competition – Jingle With Colours

Rangoli is a traditional form that brightens up an occasion and is believed to be harbinger of good luck. Beautiful patterns are created on the floor using coloured rice, flowers, coloured sand or paints. This competition was held in one round. The students of First Year and Second Year made colourful Rangoli patterns. The number of participates was 6.The theme for the competition was ‘Christmas’. Teacher in charge of the competition was Ms. Samiksha Vengurlekar, Asst. Prof. in English.

Following are the winners of the competition:

Ms. Vaishnavi Morajkar and Ms.  Sharvari Bhatikar bagged the first place and Ms. Avani Naik and Ms. Esha Pai Fondekar secured the second place.

T-Shirt Painting

T- Shirt painting competition was held on 22nd December, in the Multipurpose Hall. The theme for the competition was Christmas a New Dawn. There were two participants who participated Ms. Vanessa Carrasco and Mr. Sathvik Satardekar. The event started at 10.30 am. The judges for the competition were Ms. Amba Prabhu, College Counselor.   Lt. Sandesh Gaonkar was the teacher in charge for the competition.

The 1st place was bagged by Sathvik Satardekar and the 2nd place was secured by Ms. Vanessa Carrasco. The students in charge were Aaron Goes, Ruchchika Chaudri, Granville fenandes and Sartak Fal Desai. The event end at 12.45 p.m.

Gastr’O’ zone

Gastr’O’ zone held on 23rd December. It was a display of food stalls which made a sale of cooked food items at only ₹20/- and the quantity completely depended on the participant sellers. Winning this event was based on profit earned by the sale and also the deduction in marks if any case of any closing stock. Students put up stalls in variety and in a good number. Mr. Mayuresh Adsul was the teacher in charge for the session. Ms. Aarya  Pore and Mr. Granville Fernandes were the students in charge for the session.
