From Faculty For Faculty- Simplifying ITR Filing Together

The Department of Commerce & Management conducted an insightful session titled “From Faculty For Faculty – Simplifying ITR Filing Together” to foster knowledge-sharing among faculty members across different programmes on 12th July, 2025. The session was led by Mr. Ainsley Bernard, who delivered an engaging presentation covering critical aspects of Income Tax Return (ITR) filing, including:
  • Overview of heads of income
  • Understanding Form 16 for salaried assesses
  • Brief explanation of AIS (Annual Information Statement) and steps to download it
  • Types of ITR forms and their eligibility criteria
  • Creating an account on the e-filing portal
  • Step-by-step guidance on e-filing procedures
  • Grievance redressal mechanisms and managing outstanding demands on the e-filing portal

The session was attended by 41 faculty members from all programmes, who actively participated and gained practical insights into simplifying the ITR filing process.  Ms. Kalpana Parab was the faculty in charge.

Outcome of the Activity:
The session successfully equipped faculty members with a comprehensive understanding of ITR filing procedures, enhancing their compliance capabilities. Participants gained practical knowledge on navigating the e-filing portal, understanding tax-related documents, and addressing grievances, enabling them to manage their tax obligations more confidently. The interactive format fostered cross-departmental collaboration and knowledge exchange, promoting a culture of continuous learning among faculty.
