The Sports Council comprises of sportspersons nominated for their expertise in different sports. Shree Damodar College is renowned for its excellence in the sports arena, proved decade after decade by the College winning in several games and individual events at the State level. Many students find a place in the University and State teams in their respective sporting disciplinesThe students undergo rigorous training at the start of the academic year, through yoga, stamina building exercises and practice sessions of the games under the guidance of the College Director of Physical Education and Sports. The end result is that the College has a large number of sportsmen and sportswomen continuously playing and winning in a variety of sports events, bringing glory to themselves and to the College.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF SPORTS COUNCIL
- Organization of an Orientation programme for students at the commencement of the year
- Organization of intramural sports and games.
- Participation in inter-college events organized by Goa University and other colleges.
- Working closely with the Students’ Council and Cultural Council to organize inter-College events, particularly Anantara
- Working closely with the Students’ Council and Cultural Council to select and depute students for events organized by other Colleges
- Timely submission of list of students eligible for entitlement marks
- Organization of workshops / certificate courses for students in physical fitness and any sport
- Organization of Physical Fitness sessions for staff

Note: College participates in all the Intercollegiate Sports Tournaments organized by Goa University. There are nearly 23 sports disciplines for both men (M) and women (W) organized by GU. The preparation period ranges from a minimum of 10 days to a maximum of 30 days as the college readies itself to participate in these Intercollegiate Sports Tournaments.
