Certificate Course Organized

BBA(FS) Department organized a 30-hour Certificate Course in Personal Financial Planning for the Third Year students of BBA(FS).

The course was held from 14th February to 27th March 2018 and dealt with five topics; Fundamentals of Financial Planning, Insurance, Investment Planning, Tax Planning and Retirement Planning. Resource persons for the sessions were CA Pankaj Pai KIMG-20180317-WA0021akode from Kakode Consultancy Ltd, Mr. Abhijit Sawant from AbhiGanesh Financial Planners, Mr. Ganesh Kothatha, Chief Financial Planner from Wealth Doctors, CA Kalpak Valaulikar, and CA Atindra Bhatikar respectively. CA Pankaj Pai Kakode, Mr. Abhijit Sawant and CA Atindra Bhatikar are alumni of the College

The financial services industry plays a central role in the world economy. It comprises of banking, securities and commodities, insurance and real estate sectors. It is very important to know that we need to save first and spend the rest of the earnings. Students were informed about the various investment avenues available and how each avenue contributes in giving good returns

The resource persons focused on topics such as Calculation of returns, Construction of Portfolio, Tax exempt income, Calculation of taxable income, Retirement planning, Best Insurance plans, Top Mutual fund schemes, etc.

The main aim of the course was to impart practical knowledge to the students. The course was successfully conducted and gave students a lot of exposure and awareness about career options in the Financial Services sector.
